An idea can transform the world and rewrite all the rules.

Can we please talk about the genius that is Inception?

I just...I love the layers so much. And it was much easier to follow on second viewing. The first time I was struggling to keep up, but once it ended, I realized I understood the whole thing. The second time, I got to grasp each piece of the puzzle as it happened, and by the time the end came, I was like squealing in delight as all the little details came together.

Pretty much every key piece you need to know about the plot is repeated in the movie. You're waiting for a train, Dom breaks his own rules, an idea is a virus, we'll be old men together, so on.

Also I love how their names all represent things. Ariadne and the Minotaur's maze, Mal is latin, Eames was a couple of really smart brothers, and Bobby Fischer! Like...the chess player. IDK I was thrilled. Much like how the score of the main theme is simply the kick music slowed down. Jus little bits that make the whole really really neato.

My favorites are still Arthur and Eames, like the rest of the world. All their little bits are definitely the highlights of the movie, little splices of humor at appropriate times. I came to understand and care more about Dom the second time around, though. I've read people having a problem connecting emotionally through the movie, and yeah, there's less to grasp with as far as caring that the job gets pulled off as opposed to caring if Dom gets back with his children, but I think it works. No part is over-done. You get just enough emotional baggage mixed with all the action to get Dom's motive. And can I just say, GODDAMN LEO DICAPRIO, WHY SO ATTRACTIVE? Last time I found that man good-looking was Titanic, now all of the sudden I feel like I'm 10 again and I want to plaster his face on my wall (lol coincidentally i just tore down all my posters a few days ago). Also, JGL! I don't really find him appealing like 3/4 of tumblr apparently does, but dude, the shifting gravity scenes were pretty much the highlight of the movie visually.

But yeah, wicked in love with how brilliant this movie is. Christopher Nolan needs to spread his genius on other filmmakers.

Inception Production Notes and Actor Bios

Inception Soundtrack

I have been searching far and wide for a legit download of the film itself, but so far no luck. :/

And one last thing, from the inception kink meme, Inception, as written by the Lonely Island Boys. Pure hilarious.

~

I also saw Twilight Saga: Eclipse (the same day I saw Inception the first time.) No, I did not force Brett to go see it, I took Christina and we did a girls night out sort of thing, except you know, pregnant chick and fat chick night out, not so exciting. Eclipse was...it wasn't terrible. I did not have to stifle my laughter at the ridiculousness of Edward's lines constantly, although I did a few times. I still maintain that the only redeeming quality of those films is Taylor Lautner's chest, which MY GOD. He wears a shirt in ONE SCENE in that movie. That's it. It was glorious.

~

I posted fic. It's Dean/Sam, Dean/Alastair. Three of my four fills for blindfold_spn. (The fourth one was one of the watersports ones, you can probably figure out which. Not gonna claim that sucker officially, lol.) Probably wasn't the smartest idea to post it on the same day as the comic con panel if I wanted it go get read. But eh, wanted it posted. SO THERE.

So much awesome. We saw it Sunday night. I'm so glad someone else saw right through the names thing. Not that it was overbearing or badly done. It was PERFECT. I was just starting to feel crazy that no one noticed but me, lol.

I have decided to use the phrase, 'Then I will lead them on a MERRY chase.' at least once daily from now on. ♥

LONELY ISLAND WHAT!? *clicks*

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh haay, I was just thinking of you as I start my dl for Gaiman's Sandman. :P

I only got Fischer and Ariadne the first time, I thought he was saying Mol the whole time. Eames I totes googled and I'm still wondering what Arthur could mean...

Haha, right? I've used 'dream a little bigger darling' a couple of times already. Once to the dog, but hey, i counts!

IT WINS AT THE INTERNET, TRUST ME.

Skipping the Inception stuff, since I haven't seen it. Will be seeing it on Friday though! I've heard nothing but good things about it, so I can't wait. :D

Lol, I have to say, I think Eclipse has been the best of the films, so far. Not that there was much of a standard to beat, mind you, but still alright. I just found it funny that all the Twihards would cheer in every scene, and then the one time they were silent, a girl sneezed, and then everyone cheered for her as well. XD

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
GASP WHO IS THIS STRANGE PERSON COMMENTING? XD It is totally worth the wait.

LOL that poor girl, she was probably embarrassed! It was just us and a mother/son duo in the theater, so we were pretty free in our comments. There were definitely several directed toward shirtless Jacob. Christina at one point actually said she was surprised I wasn't laughing more, 'cuz I warned her I probably would. I was all "I know. It's actually...rather decent!"

[identity profile] foolishcalling.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
I ask myself that every day.

I was killing myself laughing throughout most of the film. I went with my sister and her friends to the midnight screening when it opened, because it seems to have become the tradition, and there were just so many people there. It was all SRS BSN, but mostly hilarious.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
lol.

We tried to go to the midnight show, very last minute, so they were sold out and then we didn't get our acts together until now. It'd been moved to the smallest of the 8 theaters and I bet it won't last another week here.

[identity profile] foolishcalling.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, my sister and her friends are semi-Twihards - they claim they're not, but they're clearly in the closet. With a shrine. Being creepy. But anyway, they pre-ordered the tickets as soon as they were available. XD

I don't even know if its still out here. I don't think it is, actually.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
lol a shrine. Yeah I actually had had plans, then cancele them, then last minute asked Christina but they were sold out, hen made different plans, then finally last minute planned with Christina AGAIN to see it.

[identity profile] foolishcalling.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, its hard being so indecisive, isn't it? ;)

[identity profile] thegrlwhowaited.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
I finally saw Eclipse too. I kept laughing and giggling when Taylor Launter wasn't wearing a shirt. Because I remember a parody I saw, where the guy who is suppose to be Jacob goes, I get paid for everytime I'm not wearing a shirt or everytime I'm wearing no shirt for 10minutes. It was something like that. So as I remembered that parody, I pointed and laughed whenever he didn't have a shirt on.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
I think had I seen it in a theater full of Twihards I wouldn't have been able to contain myself because they'd like gasp and sigh every time he came on screen. It was rather nice to just enjoy the movie and not laugh at the audience reaction, although sometimes that's fun too.

[identity profile] thegrlwhowaited.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Right. Hehe. When I saw it today, it was just me and my friend. So it was nice.

[identity profile] toolazytowork.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, I wish I had some kind of deep insight into Inception, but all my thoughts boil down to OMGWTFBBQ!!!! I know I need to see it again, because I want to have that feeling of realizing that oh, this thing relates to that thing and it all ties together here and point A is drawn straight to point B here...but I only just saw it yesterday so I'm pretty much just busy being incoherent.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Haha yeah, it like EATS at your brain until you just must make sense of it. Second time though, it all makes sense. Well, most of it.

[identity profile] darkmagic-luvr.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen Eclipse twice because I have a deep, deep love for Jackson Rathbone. My friend had a problem with the size of Taylor's nipples, and I had a problem not laughing whenever he would appear on screen without a shirt.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
lol I cannot say I have noticed what size his nipples are.

[identity profile] darkmagic-luvr.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
my male friend pointed out the smallness of them. It's amused me.

[identity profile] twivamp92.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I need to see the movie again, thats all I know.
(and I ship Arthur/Eames like 80% of the fandom does xD)
but seriously, it was just so...astounding.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes!
Astounding is a very good word for it.

[identity profile] semperama.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gosh, I absolutely loved Inception. It's definitely my favorite movie that has come out so far this year, and possibly one of my favorites of all time. It annoys me how most movies that come out nowadays are a sequel or based on a book or something, and I was so thrilled to see a really creative movie based on a creative idea that made you think. *nerdgasm*

To say that Eclipse was not terrible is a good way of putting it. xD That's about all that can be said. AND THERE SHOULD BE SHRINES BUILT TO TAYLOR LAUTNER'S CHEST. SERIOUSLY.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
YES! I think the fact that it is so unique is one of the reasons it's so awesome. I mean, it reminds me of other things, I think I said it was a combo The Matrix/What Dreams May Come, but the idea of inception is definitely unique.

I have a feeling there ARE shrines built to his chest. That's what disturbs me, lol.

[identity profile] uglyduckling-me.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Aside from Arthur and Eames, I actually got all of the name references the second time around! I mean, I got Ariadne and Robert/Bobby Fischer the first time... but I thought Dom was saying "Mol" the whole movie, like short for "Molly" or something. It took until the credits for me to realize he was saying "Mal", which yeah. The latin makes total sense!
I had to google Eames as well, but I'm still wondering what Arthur could be related to. (And yes, I kind of ship them like burning. lol)

Gah! I still have so many thoughts/questions about Inception, so I think I need to see it a third time.

I really love that the whole score is essentially the same music, just played at different speeds.

And I want to hang out, and if possible, make out, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I've had a ~thing~ for him since 10 Things I Hate About You and it's only grown/gotten worse in the intermittent years. The whole 3-piece suit, slicked back hair, being a general GQMF really does IT for me and he did it really well. The altered gravity scenes were pretty much my favorite aesthetically.

The whole movie reeks of WINNING-NESS and I want to roll around in it and then take it out behind the bleachers and get it pregnant. I mean, what? ;P

The Lonely Island Boys meme fills made me laugh so hard that my stomach now hurts. XD

I wasn't sure if Dom was Dom or Tom the first time, and I thought the same thing about Mal. And I didn't even think, what does Dom's name mean?

I don't have anyone left to coerce to go see it, so I don't think I'll get to see it again in theater. I WANT A DOWNLOAD SO BAD. I think this is one of those movies I could watch a bazillion times and no be sick of.

Haha I have never got the JGL love. He's such a nerdy geek in his roles usually, but holy crap, that 3 piece suit.

[identity profile] areyousaved.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You already know of how much I approve of this post (well the first part anyway). I still haven't read the production notes, but I have em dled. GIRL IF YOU FIND A GOOD DL LINK FOR THE MOVIE HIT ME UP, K?

I have my little Leo poster from the Titanic soundtrack up on my closet door and now I have a Dom one from the newspaper. It's like Leo through the years, I love it haha

And yeah I've been stanning JGl since '99, I love how he's getting so much recognition now. Boy is fine and a fantastic actor. Plus Arthur/Eames = OTP

I love how I still don't even have an Inception icon, so have my sexy JGL

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I CANNOT FIND ONE I AM SO CHAGRINED. There's got to be one somewhere, I'm starting to see caps that aren't just from the trailer.

...Leo through the years looks pretty much the same, right? LOL.

[identity profile] areyousaved.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
If you mean that he remains fine as hell than yes he looks pretty much the same :D

I can't believe people are calling him chubbier now though. He's just gotten older and he looks damn good.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-07-29 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Gawd yes. those blue eyes, and idk but I have such a hard-on for the way he talks.
