woof.
Oooooooooh I like LJ's banner for this month. *takes off LJ banner skin*
Totally forgot how much fun Apples to Apples is to play. Still unsure why it's named such. And I totally suck at it, in that I always choose the card that's like completely opposite what the category is because I play for the lulz and not to actually win. Heh.
I totally won when we played Blurt. Go me.
Also remembering that futons are fucking uncomfortable to sleep on right now. MEH.
So. Supernatural! I liked it, I liked it a lot! First episode of the season I can say that about. Or well, I liked 6.04 too, i suppose. But this one. It had Sam! and Dean! And stuff.
THEY MADE A SHERLOCK REFERENCE!
DEAN COMPARED SAM TO DEXTER! Remember when we were doing that in this post, just a few days ago!
SNIPER!DEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that they showed and mentioned Madison. I was kinda curious how Robo!Sam felt about past sexual encounters. Meh.
Also, skinwalkers!!! I've been waiting for an episode about skinwalkers since they mentioned them in what, Wendigo?
I bet Jared was in heaven with all these dogs on set.
LUCKY. DD:
Dear Supernatural, cars hitting dogs does not win you points with me. In fact it made me stop watching and go cry in the bathroom for a few minutes.
Oh, also, I didn't find Dean's crack about cirrhosis funny at all, considering the amount they show/imply he drinks every day.
Sam and Dean should've kept Lucky around for a bit. I think he was just looking for a home and I think he could've been incredibly helpful to them. For a bit I thought maybe he was gonna trudge up when they were eating at that picnic table, be all HEY, I'll be good, or something. Alas no dice.
So, I really like soulless!Sam. I mean, sure, I miss old Sammy as much as Dean, but I like this new version too, because it's just that. NEW. And shiny. And rather humorous at times. It's ~fascinating~ And I mean, Sam has been tortured enough throughout his life, poor guy always took things too hard, so it's this incredible change for him to not...take things at all, really. I liked what he said to Dean, flat out. And yeah, I feel sorry for Dean, but I'm kinda cheering for soulless!Sam at this point.
I'm hoping when Sam does finally get his soul back he's all Angel-broody and shit because well, his soul's in hell for one year up top so who knows how long that is in hell (He could already be a demon, who knowwwwwwws?) so he'll be like a kicked puppy, perhaps. Or perhaps he'll acclimate well. That'll be fun too.
In conclusion: SNIPER!DEAN. Needed more. Also, how come Dean's the sniper and not Sam?

And yes, I'm also enjoying snarky!soulless!Sam. XD I loved all his interaction with Lucky. XD
Speaking of which, I'm hoping Lucky didn't get hit by a car and just finds a new family to protect, learns from his mistakes, etc. That was such a cute dog, too! :D
I think maybe in this case, since Sam isn't hindered by emotions, he's the better option for close combat, so Dean got to be sniper. At least in the last fight scene. Or who knows? Maybe it's Dean's sniper and he doesn't like Sam touching his toys! XD

I'm thinking it's probably because Dean knew he couldn't trust him not to hit the kid, lol. Or random innocents.
Meh, I'm not loving soulless Sam just because I think all of the things I loved about Sam are tied up in his soul. And really, I think it's entirely possible he was lying to Dean there at the end about wanting to feel again. Because Dean's being able to feel gave him an edge as a hunter and Sam could just want that. But he knows that putting it that way would drive Dean further away in the same way that saying he'd have betrayed them if he'd been Lucky would so he once again just told Dean what Dean wanted to hear. Right after admitting he'd previously lied because he figured it was what Dean wanted to hear. I admit, in a painful way, it's fascinating to watch him play Dean over and over again.
Though MY EXCELLENT THEORY is that Sam's soul is in purgatory. Because bringing Sam back from hell if they'd tortured him would really just be a rehash of Dean in season four whereas bringing him back from purgatory could be something totally different. Maybe his soul would want to stay in purgatory the same way his body on earth doesn't necessarily want a soul.

This. I'm surprised that Sam didn't make a "pot and kettle" reference.
Soulless Sam is starting to grow on me, I just wish he'd be a bit more (okay, a lot more) eeeeeeeeeevil.

Because Sam would have shot the kid or the woman, just to hit their intended target. Dean wanted to avoid hurting innocent people, if necessary.
The cirrhosis line had me twitch a little, too. But not anywhere near as much as the woman calling Lucky her boyfriend. I know they didn't mean it that way but it was awkward.

I'm so torn about soulless!Sam. On the one hand, I like him and find him intriguing and Jared's acting is blowing me away...but on the other hand it makes me sad and angry sometimes. Sam being a jerk to people makes me cringe so hard. It's confusing!

I like soulless!Sam too. Like you said, he's really intriguing. But he's also scaring me! Which is intriguing too, lol.

I found myself wondering what the fall out will be when Sam gets his soul back as well. I could definitely see him brooding it up, Angel-style. I loves me some broody!Sam. <3
Now as long as we never see another dog get hit by a car or shot on this show, I'm good. ;__;

I don't think necessarily he was lying about wanting to feel again, but more that he knows he SHOULD want that. No I think he's perfectly content as what he is because he doesn't know better. And I don't think he's intentionally playing Dean, either, more that he's just trying to not hurt Dean but he doesn't know how.
That's another thing. If Sam's soul is in hell, is it still in the cage with Lucifer or just out and about? Because yeah, stuck with Lucifer and then returned to Sam, it's just gonna be another woe tortured is me. Though I might be interested more because Sam's better at compartmentalizing than Dean so perhaps he'd be fine and then one day go all dark!Willow. That'd be fun.

I mentioned this in another comment but perhaps when Sam gets his soul back he's fine for awhile because he compartmentalizes better than Dean but then one day something happens to Dean and Sam goes all dark!Willow with all his pent-up rage. Though I suppose they already did the yellow crayon moment so idk how that would work.

I missed the woman calling Lucky her boyfriend. HUH. The cirrhosis line pisses me off because they're never going to full-on recognize Dean's alcoholism, just make mentions to it and it pisses me off. They're glamorizing it, almost.

I think because it's confusing is why I like soulless!Sam? It's NEW and SHINY.

And Sam's so good at keeping everything in, and I mean, he was already pretty brood-in-the-dark, anyway. Now all he needs is to keep his powers so he can be a little not-human and he'd be a perfect Angel.
No kidding. D:
