The paper’s spotted with tears, but the words are still easy to make out.
Dear Nathan:
Sounds so formal, doesn’t it? It’s pretty much how this family operates, though, isn’t it?
But I know better. Not everything has always been cold and calculating, especially not with us.
I miss you, Nate.
I love you.
Peter.
He can’t bring himself to throw the note away, and he reads it over and over again, hoping that maybe it’ll bring Peter back, but he knows better.
He gets some satisfaction in knowing the last words his brother spoke to him were the same as in the letter, knows that his presence during Peter’s last moments meant the world to him. But he also feels guilty, because he knows that while he was standing there in front of his brother, giving him the “we can save the world speech,” the only thing he wanted to say, scream to the rooftops, was how much he loved Peter in return. Loved him, missed him, and missed the feeling of him in his arms, the sight of him on his knees in front of him, the feeling of his mouth around his cock.
But he’ll never get the chance, because Peter’s gone.

Good thing they got back together again, and in my imagination, had furious "I miss you, I love you" sex before Nathan's speech. But I won't go there, cuz I'll get all weepy :(
