love is all you need.

So, needless to say, Rock Band:Beatles is pretty amazing. It's bright and shiny, and they went pretty hardcore with the continuity. And the extras. The entire Christmas Album is available to listen to. You get achievements just for calibrating your instruments! I couldn't stop grinning like a fool for at least the first hour we were playing it. I was singing of course. And with the cool harmonies thing, I could jump to the parts I was used to singing with my mom. :) It's got a whole new look, and it's AMAZING. Two downfalls: My favorite songs, Hey Jude, Let it Be, and Yesterday, are not exactly Rock Band material, so they're not on it. So I can't sing them. :| Plus I think they might be considered just McCartney songs, not Beatles songs, even though they did sing them. And the big downfall: Overdrive. Or "Beatlemania" as it's called in the game, haha. Or "Star Power" as I still call it, lol. But when you activate it, it makes it incredibly hard to see the notes because the paths are so busy and trippy. But other than that.

We played some Guitar Hero 5, too, but I was just thinking "Can we get back to Rock Band?" the whole time, lol. I switched to guitar for that. There was some fun stuff, like "Under Pressure" but I'm really kind of over Guitar Hero. I know the point of it is the varied track list, but anymore I don't know half the songs on it, and usually, they kind of suck anymore. So. But the look of it is nice, and it is very user friendly, you can jump in and out when you want and stuff like that.

And then we went back to Rock Band:Beatles, and I switched over to drums, and Brett and Zack let me make the entire playlist. Revolution, Come Together, I Am the Walrus, and like 8 other songs. And then it was like 5 am, so we decided to stop. And then I rocked the hell out of Helter Skelter on hard. And now I woke up with it stuck in my head, HA.

Uhm. Anyway.

Today's episode of General Hospital is making me want to not ride carnival rides again.

OH! I almost forgot about this!

Sharing is Caring
For one week, recommend/share:
Day one: a song
Day two: a picture

Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six : a quote
Day seven : whatever tickles your fancy

I am terrible at recommending books, because I honestly don't have a favorite, haha. I just read everything. But I can recommend fanfic. :D
Life as We Know It by [livejournal.com profile] sevenfists. Yes, it's from 2007. I'm still catching up on the amazing stuff in this fandom, okay. But seriously, reading this story, the description and dialogue is so amazing, I was SO INVESTED in the ending. The summary reads "Our boys buy curtains" (so hey, Curtain!fic!!) but the story is SO MUCH MORE than that. I wish I could be more articulate about it. But GO READ IT. Even if you read it back in the day. READ IT AGAIN. Definitely my favorite of...uhm. This week.

It's been so long since I've seen General Hospital. What happened?

I keep seeing people doing that meme. I really should do it. I have so much I could rec I really should.

I don't read books that much. Not as much as I used to. Though the one I am reading is good so far. The premise sounded interesting. Besides the main character sounds like she'd fit right in with the SPN world. So it leaves it open for me to do crossovers. And the image of her on the cover looks a lot like Ellen. It's weird.

Basically, there's this carnival going on right now, and Edward was on his way there, but he'd been poisoned and was having a heart attack, so his car plowed into it and partially through it hitting things and people, causing some of them to be stuck on the rides.

I don't read nearly as much as I used to, it's sad. And I HAVE books to read, I jst spend to much time online, lol.

It's funny how lots of things seem to fit into the SPN world if you think about it. What book is it?

[identity profile] americangrl69.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Crap that does sound bad.

I have all these books I wanna read but never really get around to it. The most I read is when I'm on vacation. Though now my mom brings her laptop so I use that more than I read.

Greywalker. It's the first in a series. I think there's 2 or 3 books out already, including this one. I'd have to look to make sure but I know there's at least one other one.

It's kind of depressing watching someone feel awesome about Guitar Hero and Rock Band because I am the worst person at that game Ever. But I'm glad you had fun!

I'm totally gonna go read that fic later. Thanks for the rec.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
I'M SORRY! I promise, it does just take practice. (But there's a "no fail" easy setting if practice doesn't help!)

I once lost to a sixth grader.

For some reason, I'm really good at typing, but not anything else where I need hand coordination. I'm not bad at the singing part of Rock Band at least, they just don't let me touch anything else or we lose. Even on beginning.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2009-09-11 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
?! :((( I'm sorry.

Hey, the singer's an important part of the band, too. :)

[identity profile] egotists.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if I've read it actually so I'll have to go look at it for sure :o

[identity profile] xxtornxxapartxx.livejournal.com 2009-09-09 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds awesome!

Oh, gonna go read that fic now! :D

Good to know about the Beatles on Rock Band... my friend Bella who we're staying with in Saskatoon in November is going to buy it for her partner's birthday and she said we could play on it while we're there. The Beatles would be my all time favourite band, closely followed by Nickelback and The Offspring - I know, how different are the three of them? Anyway it's nice to know it's going to be awesome and not crap to play.

I hate it when companies bring out things on The Beatles and they're crap - it always feels like there's been an injustice.

Variety in music is good, lol. But yes, it is amazing. It's a totally new Rock Band game, not just a sort-of expansion game like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith or any of the other GH ones were.

Totally. There's a lot of crap out there, but there's some awesome now too. :DD
