[recs!] Inception fandom

My mom just asked me what a 'meme' is and then got pissy when I couldn't give her a solid answer. Well maybe if you didn't read over my shoulder you goddamn bitch I would be more inclined to try and figure out one. Sigh. Anyway. Obviously making that hiatus post was a waste of time, here I am. Think I'll mostly do fandom-related stuff for now though. Writing out my personal shit doesn't seem to help, as well, writing out this paragraph isn't making me feel better. So anyway.

Inception recs! Under the cut lies the communities I think are worth checking out, as well as 9 fics I enjoyed reading.

Communities: join [livejournal.com profile] inception_land if land comms are your thing. I didn't join b/c I barely play in [livejournal.com profile] spnland as it is, don't need to be dead weight on another comm.
I follow [livejournal.com profile] ontd_inception. Not much is actually posted in the ontd comm anymore, but there's a good list of inception comms in the profile, fyi. Also [livejournal.com profile] inceptiondaily just got set up as a newsletter, which I'm hoping they start posting on soon, because it is hella hard to keep up with all the fic coming out of [livejournal.com profile] inception_kink. I definitely only read a smidgen of what I see on my flist daily, usually just ones that grab my eye in a good way. Aaaand I've saved just a few to my delicious, so here they are:

She Dreams Awake by [livejournal.com profile] froda_baggins (Arthur/Ariadne, PG-13) If pressed, she might admit to feeling like she's waiting for something. Holding her breath. Ariadne was my least favorite of the whole film, but this fic made her enjoyable for me.

From [livejournal.com profile] inception_kink Someone prompted I'M IN A DREAM MOTHERFUCKER TAKE A LOOK AT ME and what followed can only be described as amazing, as anonymous provided not one, but FOUR awesome attempts at Lonely Island Boys, Inception style.

be my hero, baby by [livejournal.com profile] vega_writes (Arthur/Eames, PG-13) "I am not going to be the Boy Wonder," Arthur says, "to your goddamn Batman." Heee, Arthur and Eames. So witty together.

this is it boys, this is war by [livejournal.com profile] skyvehicle (Arthur/Eames, PG-13) Arthur and Eames have to travel across country/state/province/whatever. Arthur is not looking forward to being trapped in a car with Eames, but Eames is planning all the songs they'll listen to, the games they'll play, and the topics they'll talk about. I almost feel like saying 'Heee so witty together again here.'

a million names and faces by [livejournal.com profile] acetamide (Eames character study, G) They call him the Forger.I love this look into Eames' origins as a forger.

Life In Virtual Reality by [livejournal.com profile] cobweb_diamond (Arthur/Eames, R) ‘Reality’s creeping into your dreams, Eames. Your security’s going to be ruined if you can’t get rid of me.' Eames has this projection of Arthur that keeps popping up, and it'd be funny if it weren't so sad. Angsty!Eames, wheee.

i am the hero of this story (don't need to be saved) by [livejournal.com profile] electrumqueen (Mal/Dom, really kinda just Gen, PG) Mal wakes up; Dom doesn't. Complete AU of the movie, and I don't know if that makes it more sad of if Mal's just more sympathetic.

you've got the touch (Arthur/Eames, PG) “Don’t,” Arthur says, again. Eames puts a hand over Arthur’s heart, warm palm pressed against knit vest and starched cotton shirt. Arthur wonders if Eames can feel his heart beat. “I’d never hurt you,” Eames says, and the terrible part is, he means it. “You wouldn’t mean to,” Arthur amends for him. “You’d do it anyway.” Superheroes fic! Arthur is kinda Rogue and Jean Grey all wrapped into one.

One Inception/Supernatural crossover:

also, the apocalypse by [livejournal.com profile] trysts (Gen, PG-13) the team's mark turns out to be a demon in need of a good exorcism. No one is amused, least of all the Winchester brothers I WAS VERY AMUSED. There's not really enough angst in this to be a SPN and Inception fic, but the wit, oh the wit, showcases the funny parts of both.

Uh, I think that's enough. I've only actually saved...12 things to delicious, though I think I read a few that I didn't save dumbly enough. :/ Obviously Arthur/Eames is pretty much the only ship I have, and even that not really too hardcore, but they're definitely the characters who interest me the most.

I attempted to explain what meme's and macros are to my dad and I sort of got the point across but not really. It's hard :(

Thanks for the recs, I never read fic but I want to make an exception for Inception.

My mom was more concerned with the 'anonymous' part of the meme i was on than the actual definition of it. Explaining anything to her is like talking to a wall anyway so meh.

Welcome! Inception opens up all these worlds to put the characters in, there's A LOT of thought involved in writing anything, so I get quite impressed sometimes.

Yay! Thank you!

Brb reading all of these-thanks for the awesome recs :)

I know what you mean; writing out stuff doesn't always seem to do the trick that paying attention to something else entirely does.

Velcommme!

Exactly. I don't know at what point writing stopped being a distraction and more of a chore, but it did. :/

Even though I've been devouring all the Arthur/Eames I can find, you still have some here I haven't seen, yaaay.

Yeah there's a metric TON of it out there, isn't there? :D
