CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON....or something.

Day 30 - Anything SPN related
HOW ABOUT A FUCKING EPISODE REACTION POST?! \o/
Fucking finally.

SO…WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST WATCH.

Totally copied from tumblr, though slightly expanded upon.

I’m liking the new title card. Wondering how it will tie into the ~theme~ of the season.

Lisa really shouldn’t be the part of the episode I enjoyed the most. I REALLY shouldn’t be glad that Dean chose to stay with her at the end of the episode, but Sam makes me…really uncomfortable right now and I don’t think Dean should be with him. Like I get that we don't know all of the story and that's part of ~the mystery~ but... I don't trust him. In fact, I'd trust Samuel more at this point.

I was commenting to someone about how cool it would be if Sam got let out because he made a deal and he had a mission to do and it was secretly evil and blah blah. It sounded kinda cool but I doubt the show could pull it off well. I just like the idea of it still being about a demon deal. But then Samuel's whole 'they pulled me DOWN' thing kinda screwed that up. Hello, lame explanation. What is this new ~big bad~ The First Evil or something? JFC CAN YOU VAGUE THIS UP FOR ME?

They hugged! That was good. Even if Dean was half-out of it and Sam's emotions seem rather...stunted.

Liked their song choice (though I did lol at first. Dean’s a Beautiful Loser b’awwww) and the whole “Dean’s normal life” montage okay (especially Ben on the little stool under the impala's hood. So cute.) Just glad to have music back in the show, really, and I'm glad they didn't spend too much time showing ~normal Dean~ but they did consider it. I think I'm like in the minority or something and I'm really glad he didn't just up and ditch Lisa the moment Sam came barreling back in. I like that he's cautious about Sam, which of course makes an interesting parallel to how he just lept to try and save his neighbors without thinking about the consequences.

Not so fond of Azazel being Dean’s ~nightmare~ tbqh. I mean, after all the shit he's been through, I don't think that would be Dean's worst nightmare anymore, honestly. But YAY DJINNN! They were sexy.

SAM CUT YOUR FUCKING HAIR OR SOMETHING. At least part it differently so it doesn’t look so sleezy.

Jonas Quinn you so stupid. Mr. Skinner, I don’t know how I feel about you being back yet.

I lol'ed at Dean's "you want to talk about it?" and was not at all surprised that Sam didn't want to, but the way in which he responded bugs me. Could just be Jared's acting, though, lol.

I LIKE DEAN'S TUCKED IN SHIRT GODDAMN It. And his fugly coat isn't quite so fugly, I suppose. God, Jensen looks good. Even my mother thought so, she was all "His skin is SO CLEAR." I lol'ed.

I DON’T KNOW HOW I’M SUPPOSED TO FEEL ABOUT THIS.

I really don't know how I feel about next FIRDAY's show. Yeah, good job, CW, way to make new promo shots after five years, thanks for that, but CHECK YOUR FUCKING SPELLING NEXT TIME.

(also, fyi, http://isitfridayyet.org runs on Pacific Time, so it doesn't say YES until three hours after midnight EST. Which was very disappointing to find out last night)

I liked that too. It fit with their sort-of-parallels of the Pilot. Sam wouldn't have just ditched Jess way back when if she hadn't died, so it made sense for Dean to stay. Although I thought the ending was really rushed, but the idea of it was a good one at least. Plus Sam told Dean he wanted him so that's always a positive.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. I do like that it echoes the pilot, and I'm glad they already used the 'lisa burning on the ceiling' metaphor, even if it was dream form, just so I can stop fearing that they're totally gonna douche up however Dean and Lisa part with something as shitty as that. I mean, I wish we could've seen Lisa coming back home even, because as they left it, they'd broken up. Is Dean gonna go get them from Bobby's now? And OH, another point, WTF does Bobby still live in Dakota? Because that is an AWFUL long drive from Cicero if so.

God I think I've become a Lisa fan. What the hell.

Haha. How they treated going to Bobby's as if it just took a half hour or so to swing by cracked me up.

South Dakota is a long way away from Indiana, writers.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Right? And I think maybe we were supposed to figure out that they'd moved to a different house from the one Dean stood outside the doorway in last season? Or maybe they just couldn't get that house to film in again, but either way, annoying. Bobby's house looked different, even.

[identity profile] albeitslowly.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, I think I agree with pretty much everything you said, especially Dean not leaving Lisa. I know it's inevitable, but I like things the way they are for now.

Sam needs less sideburns. He totally had me thinking of Michael Landon's teenage werewolf days.

Also, love Bob Seger, though I always thought Turn the Page was more of a Dean song.

Will have to watch epi again since drunk BIL and hubby, the giant Samgirl, bickered through the whole damned thing. Men should not be allowed to partake of SPN.

ETA: I'm not sure how I feel about it either. Mostly meh to the billionth power, but that's actually an improvement over how I felt about the end of last season, so... it beats my usual Friday night AFV marathon on the Family Channel. At least until it starts to piss me off again.

It wouldn't have been his personality if he had, you know? Especially since Ben probably thinks of him as 'dad.' Dean's not a dead-beat, he doesn't have it in him.

OMG YESS.

I was hoping for Blue Collar Man. Turn the Page would fit though.

LOLOLOLOL. My dad left ten minutes to the end to walk the dog, so I don't think he liked it. MEN.

LOL yeahhh I think I usually watch Ghost Whisperer on Fridays? Only because it's what my parents watch. This is much better, even when its mediocre.

I still don't like Lisa that much, but I'm glad he didn't just up and leave them at the end. He spent a year with them, it would have felt rushed if he had.

But I hated Dean's tucked in shirt and ugly ass coat. I was happy when he ditched it.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
YES.

BUT THE TUCKED IN SHIRT HIGHLIGHTED HIS CROTCH REGION. It was sexy.

[identity profile] aisalynn.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
True, and I did try to ignore the tucked in shirt in favor of his crotch region, but it also destroyed the line of his torso. His shirt was all poofy and stuff. That was not sexy.

I don't think your in the minority about not wanting Dean to just ditch Lisa the moment Sam came back. Most people's reactions seem to be along similar lines. I totally agree that Dean probably shouldn't be with Sam right now. Something is definitely wrong and there's some serious shit to work out first, lol.

About the Azazel thing, I think the reason that was Dean's big fear was because Azazel was the family destroyer, you know? And Dean didn't want his new little family unit hurt like his old one was. I mean, if you think about it, Azazel is the whole reason Sam was all screwed up in the first place, and that's what led to pretty much all the bad shit that's happened in Dean's life. So, to me, it make sense, but YMMV.

Some things are definitely screwy. We'll just have to keep watching and hope they answer our questions soon. xD

The episode was lame. Not at all Season Premiere status. Makes me wonder if season 6 is going to be another season 5 repeat.

[identity profile] crawleysnakes.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It was definitely an interesting ep. Different than how I expected it to be and I really didn't expect anything past a good episode, which is what I believe I got.

What did The CW spell wrong now?

[identity profile] j-boo-bubbles.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Friday.

[identity profile] jacyevans.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still not sure how I feel about it, to be honest. I don't know if I liked it or not. I was pretty flail-y after the opening montage, and the rest left me feeling sort of... meh. I'm probably going to do a re-watch before Friday to try to sort my feelings out.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It's...grown on me. I've read a little meta on it and positive reviews of it. And yeah, I still think it's rather boring for a premiere and I'm not fond of these Campbells or this mysteriously acting Sam, but I think that they did alright in setting up an entirely new storyline, I suppose. There's lots of places it can go. Hopefully later in the season we can look back and be all OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ITS NOT SO BAD. Hopefully.

[identity profile] jacyevans.livejournal.com 2010-09-28 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I was definitely expecting something.... more. I'm not fond of these Campbells at all, I can sort of understand both Dean and Sam's reasons for their actions/attitudes, but... ehhhh... we'll see, like you said.
