meh.
I didn't like it. Here's why.
Okay good and fine that Lisa has a niece with a baby and Dean's 'picked up some things' BUT. Sam was a baby and you know damn well John Winchester was too far out of his mind with grief and rage to take care of a baby. Dean has more than just a passing knowledge of formulas and diapers. Why shy away from that? They didn't even MENTION how Dean probably did most of the raising. I mean, seriously. I'm annoyed. This made the whole episode sit wrong with me, and no I can't get past it. But yay, Dean with a baby.
I like Sam and Dean on the road again. And by god, I'm gonna use "A car should drive, not be a little bitch" the next time one of my stupid idiot lights comes on.
BOBBY JOHN. Lawl.
GUYS I LIKE THE CHARGER. I reeeeeeaaaaaaallly like the Charger.
My mother: "It just had to be a black baby, didn't it." I lol'ed.
Samuel and his...boss? Interesting. Mark(I think that was his name?) getting his neck snapped by Alpha Shapeshifter and then them not mentioning another word about it? Annoying.
So did Sam knowingly lure that shapeshifter in? Hrm.
LISA IS A HBIC. I knew there was a reason I'd been defending her. It's a lovely idea, in theory, having Dean come and go as he pleases. It's everything my favorite curtain!fic is made of (though can also end just as heartbreaking. see We Were Twenty.) I hope they do it justice. I hope they don't just forget about her.
Motherfucking Smoke on the Water. LOL. My mom: "Oh that one will totally do the trick. You fell asleep to that one." Me: o.O
And yeah, helllllooooo nurse. The impala looks FIERCE and that was an awesome way to end an episode. Except. I don't like the implication that she was ONLY hidden because he wasn't hiding. I was okay with her being tarped because she reminded Dean too much of SAM, not because he wasn't hunting. I know, bitch bitch. But the distinction was important to me.
I don't know. I figured I'd get online and find that everyone felt the same as me, but I guess I'm the Debbie Downer this week. Hrm. Just blame it on the sickness, I suppose. *crawls back under the covers*

Dear Lord.. Bobby John. PFFT.. Creative there, guys.
I didn't like Lisa.. I never liked that Dean went back to be with her. WHY AM I LIKING HER NOW?! ...Something tells me she may be too good to be true. But still. I like her. And Ben should be taught how to use a damn gun. (Y'know.. with Lisa's permission, I guess.)
Impala at the end. GLORIOUS. I loved it.
This ep was definitely better than last week's for me, that's for sure. I hope you feel better soon! :)

I KNOW! Like I understand the covering it up in the checkout but then THEY KEPT. CALLING HIM. IT.
I was :( that Dean didn't tell Lisa that Ben was touching the guns, too. I mean, that's a perfectly NORMAL conversation to be having, not wanting your child around guns!
Thanks, deary meee tooo. :)

You gonna buy it, add to the collection? :P
I do like how Dean doesn't want to repeat his father's mistakes. Which I think is a dangerous line they're playing.
ONLY BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THE RIGHTS TO RAMBLE ON, LOL. My ringtone is Lady Gaga. *shifty eyes*

...says the girl who didn't even watch. Meh. I heard the spoilers, though, and had hoped for a nod to Dean taking care of Sam, too. I guess I'm not all that shocked that they'd forget that canon, though. :P

It amkes me so sad. SO MUCH OPPORTUNITY FOR WEECHESTER STORIES.

That being said...when he was 10, he left a 6 year old Sam alone in a hotel room which led to the whole shtriga incident, so...IDK. I'm still not completely sold on that "Dean as parent" thing until he was at least a little bit older.

A 4-6 year old shouldn't HAVE TO take care of a baby.
Dean did. I did, too. Standing on a chair to make toast sucks. It's worse when your parent expects you to do it because they want to check out of reality for a while.
I knew how to test the temp of formula on my wrist before I was seven, and one of my younger sisters got me confused with our own mother because I was the one taking care of her most of the time.

That being said, we don't know for sure that Dean had to take care of Sam that young. He probably did some stuff, like maybe feed him occasionally, but we know that they were left with people like Pastor Jim sometimes when John couldn't be there, so I still don't think he had that much of a parental role that early. :\ I'm not quite willing to believe John was that negligent.

Yes, THIS! This is more or less what I wanted to say about that. Yes, Dean technically probably has some experience with babies from that time. But he was four years old. I think he started doing more of the raising a few years later. At the beginning he was there, yes, and definitely helping with keeping baby!Sammy happy/content. But I think it's ok that the show didn't make that specific reference in this instance.

Not attacking ya'. Not at all. I actually like hearing/reading different perspectives. Especially when they're written like this. (As opposed to all those flame-throwing demon-eyed fans that exist just to bash and wank on the show.)
Anyways, I hear ya'. Each and every episode won't have the same affect on us all. No worrying about it. Right? Good. *hugs*

This particular brand of motw-pattern they've established with the two epis so far (enhanced/super-charged monsters of S1&S2) is just so laaame. Also, why do they always give away the monster in their previews? Not that not knowing it was going to be a shifter from the start would have made for more suspense ... but just saying.
Last week, most people were like meh, while I actually thought it was a better season opener than those for S3 and S5. This week, most people were like YAY!, while I'm going mehh/blah ... so maybe I just came back wrong after the hiatus ;)
On a sidenote: Why did they have to kill off the least annoying Campbell first?

I wasn't absolutely thrilled with the first two SPN episodes!

Hahahaha right? Except I always forget to turn off my headlights, and my care beeps at me for that, so I appreciate it.

LOL true story: Never once have I turned on or off my headlights. They're automatic. Which presents a problem when I drive my mom's car. I got pulled over once because I didn't have the headlights on, lol. I WOULD'VE NOTICE WHEN I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY OFFICER I SWEAR. I get idiot dingers a lot for windshield wiper fluid b/c mine leaks, and low coolant because mine leaks. thankfully my seatbelt one just dings once and goes off or else we'd have a real problem.
