Writer's Block: Do you want to know a secret?

[Error: unknown template qotd]

OOH I'LL PLAY. I, shockingly, only have two favorite Beatles songs.

Let It Be
Hey Jude

Let It Be is that song that can make me cry and make me smile at the same time. There are times I feel ridiculously pathetic listening to it, and times I feel incredibly strong. I listen to it when I'm down, I listen to it when I'm not. But it is always there when I need it to be.

Hey Jude (and most of the Beatles discography, tbh) was what my mother would sing to me when I couldn't fall asleep as a kid, or, one memorable time, when I couldn't stop crying at a funeral. Sometimes she'd say 'Jude' but sometimes she'd replace it with 'You' or some pet name, but the melody always stayed the same.

Oh I also love Helter Skelter but really just to sing karaoke to. XD

Omg you must have been BAWLING when Dean told Mary that she used to sing him "Hey Jude" ;______; ♥

And I love "Helter Skelter," too XD Altho tbqh I prefer Stereophonics' cover of it:

I was BEYOND speechless when that happened. And I watch with my parents, so my mom was on the couch right next to me. It was definitely one of those 'this is why I love this show' moments.

Dude, that is an awesome cover! I really like the cover from Across the Universe, actually. That woman can siiiiiiiiiiiing.

Yes! I've sobbed my eyes out to this song - and to The Long and Winding Road.

I was going to answer this Writer's Block, but there's so many songs I love from different periods in the Beatles' career, as a group and solo. I looooove Beatles Rock Band because there's so many great songs on there (all 3 that you mentioned!). I love singing them when I play since I can just belt them out and they're [mostly] in my range! Especially if it's one that Paul sang :D

god, now I want to play but I can't before work (and my mom is home sick). :/
Lego!Potter it is then! lol

My mother got burned out on most Beatles songs many years ago, so my childhood was somewhat deprived, and somehow other music has kept me busy enough since then that I still haven't heard half of the most famous ones. But yes, absolutely, on Let It Be. it's calming and anthemic, proving that those terms are actually not mutually exclusive.

...I also like Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but it's more of a ha-ha than a wow.

The Long and Winding Road is a beautiful song as well, but I've never connected with it quite as much.

Haha yeah I was a monster when Beatles Rock Band first came out. A friend bought it and we played it a lot but we don't talk anymore, so I never get to play anymore. :/ But yeah, I knew all the words. I love the harmony feature on that too, I'd just jump around, lol.

Sigh. I miss playing Rock Band.

I AM DISAPPOINT. RECTIFY THIS IMMEDIATELY.

Haha! I love Maxwell's Silver Hammer. It's so goofy. And I can play it on the clarinet, lol.

I absolutely ADORE Let It Be. One of the most amazing songs in the whole world. ♥
