spn, i am disappoint.
So I liked this week's episode of Grimm better than that episode of Supernatural. And that's saying something, since it was basically "Bugs" with better special effects and less gay references.
.
But really Supernatural, what the fuck is it with you and rape jokes/implications and black people whose deaths are a given? Let's look past the fact that you KNEW the implication of Becky 'roofie'ing Sam was there but made this episode anyway and focus on the fact that Becky is supposed to be this representation of fandom, as you've made her. If that's truly how everyone involved in the show sees us, I'm pretty offended. And I'm usually pretty easy-going about that sort of thing.
Only reedeming points are Dean's sweater vest (professor!dean!!!!!) "Shouldn't you ask for my permission or something?" and...well...DJ Qualls was cute I guess. Okay ALL THE SCENES WITH DEAN WERE OKAY. And bearded!Crowley.
But like...Sam oh honey. Your face is precious and your sideburns are whack, but I can't believe anyone thought this plot was a good idea for you. Not to mention you're legally dead so the marriage wouldn't have been legal anyway.
Like, I hated Becky already. But I was willing to look past that for the episode. But the writing...I hated it more. Fucking Dabb & Loflin, in your fandom ruining your shows. The more I think about this episode the more angry I get.
In equally as frustrating news as that episode, Nashcon was moved up to February and while, I suppose I could ask off and cough up the money, I don't plan to, because that's only four months away and my bank account won't have recovered from Chicon by that point yet. Really pissed about this, but understanding, I guess. The real question will be if it stays in February. February is just not a good month for me.

As for Becky. I'd say my stance is more neutral. I've never really taken a side on liking/disliking her.
Sorry to butt in, I'm just reaching out because apparently we're in a minority this week for liking the episode. : )

I'll have to look at your journal later, thanks!

It's like in Sam, Interrupted when Dean shouts PUDDING! - absolutely funny but also really offensive and awkward.

I read some people comparing this to Yellow Fever, where in this one Sam's deep seated issues around consent and the nature of reality and stuff are played for laughs, like in YF where Dean's reaction to the dog and his hell trauma are funny, apparently, and it totally makes sense. Dabb and Loflin are fucking awful at all the things.
They ruined Becky. Fucking Crowley saying that she was ugly - he didn't even know that she had acted sketchy, you know? He just made a shitty comment about her looks with no prior knowledge of anything about her. I am so angry :'(
(Also, I went to the page to post this anon, because apparently that is my default now. *facepalm*)

Dabb and Loflin have the shittiest sense of humor and grasp on the Winchesters, it's true.
I found Crowley's comment rude, sure, but it seemed natural for him to make a negative comment about her because that's who he is, but Crowley's insults are usually SO creative you know? And there was nothing about that other than offensive. :(
L O L loser. :P

However, as soon as I heard about this episode, I was Not Happy. Really, show? REALLY? So unnecessary.

I'm so disgusted. Plus I mean, how do they not think about the fact that a majority of their fanbase is female and probably gonna be rather put-off by even the suggestion of someone being 'roofied' let alone the actuality of it. It's like they don't know us at all ;__;

Also, was this the "meta" episode they were talking about? 'Cause it was just a random clusterfuck of fail.
Side note, is Grimm any good? Most things I've seen say it's basically just ripping off other shows so...idk.

Grimm is... well, mediocre barely. The good news is it's steadily improving as it progresses! My main problem is actually with the lead actor, in that he's attractive but in a plain, nothing really stands out about him way. And his acting is...similar to that, as well. As far as ripping off other shows...sort of? Like, actually, I think their spin on things is a bit unique as far as creatures, and the special effects are wicked cool. It really isn't as similar to Supernatural as people seem to make it out to be. He doesn't really even hunt monsters, he just happens to stumble across them in his actual detective work, and he doesn't have a clue how to deal with most of them until he reads about them in his family's ~book.~
IDK, the pilot sucked balls and the writing is still a bit clunky, but i'm still giving it a chance.
