Me:
Hi my name is Carleen! (HELLO CARLEEN) I'm twenty...something, for the sake of not having to update this every January. I'm from Indiana's first city, or well, a tiiiiiny town right near it, down here in the Southwest corner of the state. I say things like y'all and ain't far more than I should, due to our close proximity with Kentucky and just a general lack of proper speak in this area. (Not to mention I have this uncanny knack for picking up other people's accents.)
I swear I have a college degree though sometimes it may not seem as such. I ended up with a BA in General Studies, after failing to major in Anthropology or Creative Writing, and I was too desperate to get out of school to be patient with anything else. So those ended up as my minors. College was not the experience of my lifetime as everyone assured me it would be. :/
Currently I work in a residence hall at the community college. I sit at the front desk overnight and make sure no scary people that aren't supposed to be there get in. Meaning, I call the PD when someone shady shows up or students get in a fight but most of the time I sit and watch movies or read a book. It's a pretty sweet gig but it doesn't pay well.
The easiest way to describe me is: quirky.
Online:
My first foray into the world of online blogging involved Deadjournal back in 2002, but I only posted maybe half a dozen times on it before I migrated to LJ. That was 2004, and all my DJ entries migrated with me. Somewhere along the way I had a blogger account and a xanga that I recently re-discovered, but this LJ was the only one that stuck.
I only really got into the internet when I went away for college. I never had a computer in school until my senior year of high school, and we didn't get internet in our home until after I'd graduated college. So I missed out on ~the heydays~ of the early internet. Though I will forever profess my love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I imagine the first fanfic I ever read was something Buffy, off a 3 1/2" floppy disc that a friend slipped me during English class after we were done writing our papers in the computer lab.
My first real fandom participation was in the Heroes fandom, early season two before it got all weird and not good. Currently I'm a rather large fan of this show called Supernatural. If you're my friend or looking to be my friend, I imagine you've heard of it. Dean Winchester is my forever girl. You may also be an Avengers/Marvel fan, which is also suuuuuuper awesome. I am maybe just a bit in love with Tony Stark and his ridiculousness.
I used to be darkmerrick on LJ. I still am in a lot of other places, but I decided a change was in order here. And so I chose.
"Whatever you do, you will always end up here. No matter what choices you make, whatever details you alter, we will always end up... here. I win, so I win. - Lucifer, Supernatural 5.04

I have Facebook, but I'm not an avid fan of it and I try to keep it to only people I know in real life. As far as instant messengers, I don't use them often but I'm not against having a conversation here and there. If you'd like to know my usernames, let me know.
Fandom:
Fandom-wise, I write things. Sometimes. A lot of the times in second person pov because that seems to be how my brain functions best and who am I to argue with creativity. Mostly I write Supernatural things now, though I did write for Heroes fandom for a bit and occasionally I attempt to dabble in other things. I have next to zero art skills, so I'm constantly jealous of the amazing things people churn out.
I read things too, and my preferences tend to run to the waay more angsty stuff than the fluffy or cracky stuff. I JUST NEED ANGST. There really isn't anything I won't read, especially when it comes to Supernatural, to be honest. It just needs a good rec behind it. I'm much pickier about fic in other fandoms, though (certain pairings, etc. And I still need angst, which isn't so abundant in say, a Peter/Neal fic.)
Also, if for some reason you feel the need, I wrote The (almost) Complete Guide to How I Feel About Supernatural and Its Fandom awhile back, and kept it updated for a bit, but now I don't really see the need/am too lazy to keep it up.
I find it hard to keep up in multiple fandoms, and Supernatural tends to dominate, but I do enjoy other shows as well! Currently also interested in Avengers, The Hunger Games, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Shameless, Downton Abbey, Sons of Anarchy, Legend of the Seeker, Once Upon a Time, White Collar, Castle, Friday Night Lights, Lost Girl, and a million other things off and on.

On Friending:
Television and movie reviews, random fandom comments, and fanfic are public. Most personal stuff is locked, but all is variable. I do try to read every entry on my friends list, so I don't automatically add back until I've gotten to know you, but if you leave a comment with something we have in common, I'll be much more inclined to add back. No comment = no friending. Feel free to de-friend whenever. I don't hold grudges, and sometimes, people just don't click.
