this is a post about supernatural and the lion king (and maybe tv too)

+ I don't really want to talk about last week's Supernatural, if only to say I was really enjoying it until it ended, and then for about seventeen hours, I hated Dean Winchester for the first time. I've gotten over that and maybe come to an understanding of his actions, but am choosing to pretty much ignore that episode until the ramifications of his actions (hopefully) show through in the next episode.

+ Boyfriend and I went to see The Lion King in 3D on Friday (okay basically I dragged him to see it, and I paid and everything and jfc 3D is expensive) Literally the moment Circle of Life started playing there were tears rolling down my cheeks. It's like...it was kind of like Toy Story, how Andy grew up and gave his toys away (you know you cried at that part), I felt the same way. The Lion King is the first movie I recall seeing in theaters, and even that memory is a little shaky, but it was like truly reliving my childhood for 89 minutes, except this time I'd already seen it enough times to know every single moment in the movie from the dialogue to the music cues to the phallic symbols in the stars.

There was a little boy several rows behind us, however, who did not, and after the stampede and Simba's crying, he said, "Where's his daddy?" And then when Scar walked up and the little boy said, "Scar is a baaaaaaaaaad man." Then Simba runs off, you know, and stumbles into the desert, etc etc, then when Timon and Pumba find him the little boy said again, "But where's his daddy?" And he kept asking it through the movie, and each time I had to choke back a sob.

+ I'm absolutely trying to watch too much new television right now and succeeding miserably. American Horror Story is the latest show I've picked up, and while I'm not so much a horror fan, I am a fan of Dylan McDermott's ass, so I'll be watching more of it. Pan Am is absolutely adorable, if not totally sexist and 60s cliched, but I'm terribly fond of Collette and the overwhelming sense of adventure of the show, so I'll keep watching it. I watch all my CW shows 4 days after they air, as that's when they hit the CW mobile app and I can watch them at work: Ringer, The Secret Circle, and Hart of Dixie. They're all mediocre (Hart of Dixie is adorable as a bonus) but I'm still curious enough to keep watching. The Playboy Club already is canceled so goodbye there, and I haven't managed to catch a full episode of Terra Nova though I am mighty curious. IDK, eventually I'll fall behind somewhere and not bother to catch up, but I have no idea which show it'll be that gets the cut.

+ i was trying to find one of those tumblr graphics with sam winchester and simba together on it, I KNOW THEY EXIST, but i apparently tagged them something funny. :|
