I figured 60/40.

I have all but one achievement in Plants vs. Zombies, be jealoussssss. Of course the one left is to survive 40 rounds of zombies on endless, so that'll take some time.

Brett and I watched Public Enemies after Supernatural last night. That movie...I'm angry at it. Dillinger is such a cool character to tell a story about, and they just...failed at it. I mean, it was pretty and it was filmed well, but the script SUCKED. I didn't care about any of the characters, wasn't even really introduced to most of them, had no emotional connection with anyone other than Billie and Johnny and even then not so much. Not to mention just the coherency of the story was incredibly jumbled. Had I not already known the story I would've been quite lost, much like Brett was. So yeah, cool idea, bad execution. I did enjoy going HEY THAT'S CROWN POINT. HEY THAT'S MOORESVILLE when I recognized things, though.

I debated whether to even mention Supernatural, but I have to.

I loved this. Dean IS Sam's soul, Sam's moral compass.

The whole Purgatory thing had me going O RLY? But I was all DANTE THEY MENTIONED DANTE!!!! lol. Is Mary in Purgatory? What else is there that Sampa could want? And how does Crowley have the power to pull people down from heaven? That is, if we still believe Grampa Skinner was in heaven.

CROWLEY. Mark Sheppard you sneaky sneaky. His name wasn't in the opening guest star credits. *applauds show* That said...not shocked, by any means. Almost wish they would've saved that reveal for a bit.

Loved the Alpha vamp, (love that actor) loved his speech and how easily he told Sam and Dean what Samuel wanted. I love it when the monsters help them, how it twists that line of good/bad again.

I wonder if that's the last we see of Christian. Good to know his dickishness was at least partially demon-inspired. Though man, if a demon can infiltrate a compound like they seemed to have set-up, I think they gots some security issues, lol. I was also surprised that Gwen was just...Gwen. Why not possess her? And what does that say about her, if everyone else was a demon and that's why they followed Sampa's weird 'save the vampire save the world' creepy van-throwing, why did she do it? (See questions I have that I don't really need an answer for and know I will never get)

Oh! Castiel was funny. I was hoping he and Samuel would meet finally. And he's the size of a Chrysler building! And OF COURSE their problems come first.

I hope Sam gets his soul back soonish, like halfway through the season maybe? I like that they're working together again, but I miss his morality. :/ I don't know about this show anymore, lol. I watch for the characters, definitely not for the plot.

And by "characters" do you mean "pretty"?

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes I do.

This is beautifully said <3

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
<3 Dean said it best last season, I think it was. "We keep each other human."

[identity profile] salty-catfish.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It's funny I'm always pretty squee-y (how I squeed about that Dante mention, lol) about the eps when they air but then I stop to think about everything for about five minutes and get all 'meh'. Leads me to the conclusion that spn should be enjoyed on a surface level. ;)

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, I was bored until they mentioned Dante then I was all OH THIS EPISODE IS INTERESTING AGAIN. I've always tried to watch Supernatural that way, but it's just so harddddd.

I honestly think all that excellent fanfiction is spoiling me a little.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
This fandom does have some mind-blowingly good fanfiction.

Someone else said on Twitter last night "What do you do when your soulmate's soul is missing? You be his soul for a little while. That's what you do."

I liked the Dante reference. And the alpha-vamp. And I really liked that Gwen was just herself. I think she's been following Samuel & the others (a) because she was raised in that lifestyle [presumably] and (b) I think maybe she's been thinking something's up with how thing's have been going down. I really hope she's just human and doesn't end up being an angel or some shit.
Also, I think she's pretty :)

I'm excited about sniper!Dean and how things are going to play out this season. I refuse to be anything less than excited about this show. MY SQUEE KNOWS NO BOUNDS \:D/

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's a wonderful quote.

I liked how she and Dean were kinda bonding in an awkward way there, even if she did call him a reject, she saved his ass, too.

OH GOD SNIPER!DEAN IS SOOOO RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS. Oh you. <3

[identity profile] dawnintheforest.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I really liked the Alpha vamp actor too. I'm also feeling very "O RLY" about the Purgatory thing. Why would that be where monsters go? I get that it's in between Heaven and Hell, but isn't it supposed to be a waystation for those who almost made it to Heaven, and still might? I suppose monsters could qualify for that... But it's still very O RLY? and eyebrow-quirk-worthy to me.

They revealed a whole lot. I'm going to rewatch this epi this week, b/c I feel like I need it in order to process.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
What bugged me is they mention Dante and then COMPLETELY disregard his concept of Purgatory as yeah, that in-between. It's a unique idea, I suppose, so I at least can't fault them for that.

[identity profile] dawnintheforest.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It felt a little awkward. But like with everything else this season, I'm forcing myself to take breaths and just wait&see.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. And actually I just rewatched it with my mom and I enjoyed the episode a lot more the second time around. I think maybe I just need to lower my standards for this show. (Something I wouldn't have needed to do 3 seasons ago but eh, what can you do.)

[identity profile] queen125.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking Grandpa Samuel might want to get his wife back and Mary.

I loved the vampire Alpha also.

I love Cas, and I'm glad he snapped at Dean about that. Dean doesn't get it that Cas is at war in heaven and has Raphael on his ass. What part of that does Dean not understand?

My fangirly heart will just say that Dean is really worried about Cas and misses him alot.

I think Sam finding his soul could be stretched the whole season.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps that is it. But then that begs the question, are they in heaven? How DOES Crowley have the power to get them back? Or if they're in Purgatory...why.

Dean is SO demanding of Castiel, it is quite rooood. I don't quite think Cas understands the whole 'submissive' part of their relationship. :P (lol what am I SAYINGGGG)

I hope not. I like them exploring Robo!Sam but I want SAMMY back. T____T

[identity profile] tahirire.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I HATE PUBLIC ENEMIES. HOW did they manage to make it SO BORING OMG.

That is all.

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-06 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
GOD YES. It's a story about one of the GREATEST BANK ROBBERS EVER. How in the hell does that end up SO BORINGGGGGG.

[identity profile] tahirire.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
I fell asleep. Twice.

[identity profile] roque-clasique.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Public Enemies bored me to tears.

I love what you said about Dean being Sam's soul! *swoons*

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
It's about one of THE GREATEST BANK ROBBERS IN THE WORLD, I am so flabbergasted as to how it could turn into such a boring failure.

<33 And then someone upthread said it even prettier than I - "What do you do when your soulmate's soul is missing? You be his soul for a little while. That's what you do."

[identity profile] slayerkate.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm kinda sad that Parker Campbell ended up being a douchebag. But it did cause me to say, "Parker Lewis, you just lost!" When he stood in the doorway and didn't find Dean or Sam. Any time I get to snark, I'm a happy Kate.

I feel bad when I continually compare this show to BtVS. It's in season six, it deserves to stand on its own merit for that. But when there's a conversation where the guys keep repeating, "the first" over and over, I can't help it.

I was thinking of the Alpha as being like Adam (BtVS Adam, not the Adam they introduced and then ignored like a redheaded stepchild), but now I think he's more like Glory.

I can't escape the need to compare the shows. This one really needs more Buffy.

What?

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
:/ Image (http://tinypic.com?ref=sy42lx)

Haha, well to be fair, it's always been comparative to Buffy. And I think even moreso now that ~Sam came back wrong~ you know? It's even comparitive to season six of Buffy. Ngl, I was hoping the Alpha vamp would be a little more Master-esque. Though his speech reminded me a lot of The First "When you were huddled around the fire, I was the thing in the dark."

I want to know who the Alphas' mother is/are. Because THAT is the first. And I wonder if they're even going to address the plotline they set up there.

[identity profile] slayerkate.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I really do think that the Alpha's mother is Lilith.

[identity profile] kilynn16.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm wondering the same thing about Mary! It makes sense that she would've gone there when her spirit was destroyed in Home. Plus, like you said, what else could Crowley possibly have to lord over Grandpa? And I'm guessing Crowley had to have struck some sort of deal with an angel to get Grandpa released from heaven. He is still King of the Crossroads, after all. ;)

[identity profile] alwaysenduphere.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
YESSSS. Well then, though, that poses the question, why don't spirits go to heaven or hell? They aren't Freaks or creatures. They are just...lost souls. Which is Purgatory's original intent. Though Ash did say he couldn't find John or Mary in heaven...
Not thinking too hard, not thinking too hard, not thinking too hard. *rocks*
