A Massive Review Post: F13, Dollhouse, BSG, Heroes, Lost
In the order in which I viewed them (F13, Dollhouse, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, if the cut text isn't clear), with (hopefully) plenty of spoiler space in between, just in case.
Friday the 13th:
I'm not a fan of the franchise. I knew next to nothing about Jason, and I still don't care to, even after seeing the movie. Brett was like a little geek kid in a candy store leading up to us seeing it, so everything I knew I gleaned from him. Also, very awesome to go see a movie with him and have us both be excited about it (even if for different reasons). Doesn't happen that often lately.
I don't like horror movies. There's probably a hand-shaped bruise on Brett's forearm that explains this well. It also states that I found the scares in this movie quite good.
-I was sad Dick Casablancas(I can never remember his real name, dangit) died so soon, although arrow through the head was a sweet way to die.
-*snicker* (re: hockey stick) "Are you looking for this? It completes your outfit." Man, I think Chewie was the only character I was really sad to see die. Well, Panabaker's character a bit, too, but Clay's reaction to her death seemed a little too fake to me. He looked like he'd just lost someone he hadn't just met the day before. It wouldn't have bothered me had we seen some connection (kissing, or ya know, nekkid Jared) between them, but...nada.
-The ending really pissed both Brett and me off. I get that it's a horror movie and it needs set up for a sequal, but really. Why couldn't they just show Jason putting the mask back on underwater or something? It's been pointed out to me that its an homage to the way the original F13 movie ended, but...still. Cop. Out.
-And Jared. Jared, you do scary face well. I'm still not all abord the "OMFG HE CAN ACT LIEK NO OTHER" train, but he does a damn good job looking scared (and a couple other things, too, like concerned and pissed). He also looks very pretty in tight jeans, with a nice knife dangling off his belt loop riding a vintage motorcycle with wet hair fighting Jason when its not straightened and hanging all pretty around his face and how's this for the worst run-on rambling sentence ever. But yeah. I was there for the pretty; Brett was the one there for the plot. lol.
-I'm super glad this movie's doing like...phenomenal in the box office. I'm not a horror buff, so I probably can't critique it well, but nothing about it really bugged the shit out of me other than the ending, so I think it's quite A-OK.
-I wonder what Jensen thinks about the movie's success, considering how it's overshadowing the semi-successful movie he just released. It'd make a man's ego shrink just a bit, if it were me.

Dollhouse:
Eh. Joss Whedon, I am yet to be impressed. I realize it's just a pilot, got to get the basics out there before fleshing out. There was no character connection for me. I don't care about Echo or any of her merry band of handlers/associates/whatevers. The plot is certainly intreguing, but you can't have a show without connecting to the characters, something Whedon's always done with ease before.
I've mostly stayed out of the Dollhouse spoilers and everything . Keeping up with SPN fandom is enough for me, and getting sucked into Whedonverse is the last thing I need right now. I did read that what ended up aired was not Joss's original pilot for the show and Fox needed more action, which I understand, but I'm sure some of the characterization was lost in making room for action. At least, I hope so. Otherwise, Joss, shape up!
I'll be watching this week. I'll probably be watching until Fox cancels it, which hopefully they won't do, but ya never know. But I'm loyal in my love of the amazing Joss Whedon. Unless it's the comics, then don't get me started. And Eliza Dushku. Gotta love her to. And Helo, although his character just...made me go...bzuh.

Battlestar Galactica:
"THE SHIP, SHE'S DYING, CAPTAIN! LEMME USE CYLON STUFF TO FIX HER!"
"NO!"
"I DONT THINK YOU GET IT, I CAN SAVE HER, JUST SELL HER SOUL TO MACHINES!"
"WELL...OKAY. I CANT LIVE WITHOUT HER."
I love this, that little by little Adama is giving into Cylon technology, Cylons in general. You could say he's forced to, but it's still a concious choice. He *could* let the ship go, but he cares too much. CARES, about what in all basics, IS A MACHINE. Ah, sweet irony popping up, methinks.
Everything with Anders and "what has happened and will happen again" is making my brain hurt. This is the reason why I could never get into this fandom, all the deep thinking and complicated patterns and pasts is enough to make my brain go 'splody. I just watch and kind of go with the flow in these cases.
I'm not sure what throwing another cylon that doesn't even exist anymore into the mix is going to mean, although I'm curious. I did wonder if maybe "Daniel" had become someone else and there was another cylon roaming around, but they made it sound like he was dead and gone.
Gotta tell you, didn't like Ellen at all until this new Cylon model of her popped up. Not bad.
Uhm...it's been almost a week since I saw it, so my brain's going blank now. Bzuh.

Heroes:
I watched Heroes on Hulu Tues, because I forgot about it Monday night. Yes, it's true. That's how much I REALLY care. lol. But I'm still watching. So. I present, some of the mostly unintelligable comments I sent Brett's way while watching.
i giggle @ sylar. "okay, TECHNICALLY im a serial killer"
i like his little travelling buddy. i love annoyed sylar.
i don't like the little buddy. i like the fact that he's there to annoy sylar.
i do like sylar's little friend. i think it's kind of showing yet another side of sylar.
sigh. its still sad that sylar's my favorite character.
AND WHERE THE HECK IS PARKMAN?
loll i love how frustrated sylar is at luke.
and how he's like..."teaching luke" even though he said he wouldn't.
luke's a pretty smart kid the way he's manipulating sylar.
and sylar's like a little kid screaming DADDY WHY
it's actually what's keeping me watching so far.
that and claire not being a whiny little bitch for once.
although i wish they'd get her to just cut her hair onscreen so haydp can stop wearing those ugly wigs.
AW. DONT LEAVE LUKE YOU BASTARD.
(side note: emo pinata. i can never remember that that's a verizon blackberry commercial, but i always frickin remember emo pinata instead of reno nevada.)
WHY DIDNT MOHINDER GO TO INDIA WITH THEM? HE SPEAKS INDIAN.
...and in india, i don't think it matters if the woman doesn't want to get married.
YATTA! Oh, Hiro. You don't really have anything to do without powers other than wave around your Sprint phone.
TRACY IS A STUPID BITCH. SHE SHOULD DIE.
SO SHOULD NATHAN.
like...last season DIE.
i feel like the name of this epsidose should've been "lie to me" like that one buffy episode. Brett says: yeah i dont understand the building 26 thing
really? a fax that says "save matt parkman" WTF
Aw, noah bennet gettin all emotional.
WHO POISONED NOAH BENENT?! IMA CHOKE A BITCH...PARKMAN!! YES!

Lost:
Yeah, I never post stuff about LOST. Sometimes I don't even admit to watching the show. I don't really WANT to, but it's like a train wreck or something, I just can't help it. For one thing, Brett's always shoving trivial things about it my way, much like I do to him with SPN, so I still learn about it even if I don't watch it, so I might as well watch so I can keep up with all the crap he tells me, right? lol.
I NEED MORE SAWYER.
Back to the island, FINALLY. The whole time-disconnection, "we've got to get back, jack" shit was getting old. And FRANK! Frank without his beard was a good surprise.
And WHY THE HELL IS JIN IN DHARMA CLOTHES AND WHYS THE VAN NEW? Don't tell me they ended up back on the island in like 1962, and now that Locke fixed the wheel o' doom ,they're stuck there. That would just be lame. There's no way.
...I think that's everything. Phew. I could never be one of those people to write reviews on all the shows I watch every week. I don't know how you people do it! So much information to type out, and I always feel like there's MORE I want to say but just can't process enough to type out.
I wish there was a Supernatural review to go along with this. Sadface. 'specially after the spoilers I read today.
