SO HIII. Obviously I'm home and shit, if you couldn't tell by the influx of comments on some of your journals. I did make it through 5 days worth of LJ entries, someone give me a fucking medal. I didn't comment a lot, but I did comment.

I couldn't deal with the hotel's slow wireless combined with my slow old fogie of a laptop so I just barely got by. HOMG it is SO HARD not to see twitter all the time. I'm sure I missed so many amazing tweets. But yeah.

BEST. WEEKEND. OF MY LIFE. Which is what I said last year at Chicon but this weekend...omg how do you top suprise!Jensen fucking Ackles. And so many fucking awesome people I met this weekend! It got to where I couldn't even keep track. I should've carried around a little notebook or something because I can't remember everyone's names/LJ names to look them up on The Google. (Also I have a ridiculous amount of inside jokes now. The sheer number rivals the size of Matt Cohen's penis.)

OKAY WELL YOU ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED because for once Creation was not douchey and let people record glorious footage. Sweeeet glorious footage. I actually already watched a bunch of [livejournal.com profile] agt_spooky's vids again and discovered there were things I'd missed, especially during the J2M panel because I was laughing so goddamned hard.

I will make a post with my memories and favorites and highlights and whatnot...at a later date. This one is for pretty pictures. I didn't actually take but a handful of my own pics b/c I figured ppl w/far better quality camera than me would be sharing and caring after the con. I thought [livejournal.com profile] wolfpup2000 would be there, but apparently she had a family emergency and was not. So hopefully someone else took equally amazing photos like she usually does. Especially of their shoes and jewelry.

Photo Ops & Autos under here! ) So there's that. Now I'm going to bed as I've had about 4 hours of sleep per night since Thursday morning and I honestly don't know how my body is still going. It's also really confused to be sober for the whole day, I think. I've had a headache since I got going. But that could just have been from all the screaming children. (Oh PS I substitute teached...taught at the elementary school today. First day on the job. Were we that crazy as 1st/2nd/3rd graders? I somehow think not.)

So anyway. GOODNIGHT. I MISS ALL OF YOU #CHICON FOLKS DEARLY, [livejournal.com profile] crimsonkitty88, [livejournal.com profile] dauntdraws, [livejournal.com profile] uglyduckling_me, [livejournal.com profile] crackedeggie, [livejournal.com profile] aplethora, [livejournal.com profile] unreckless, [livejournal.com profile] karabou, [livejournal.com profile] vehiclesshockme, [livejournal.com profile] toolazytowork, [livejournal.com profile] slayerkate, [livejournal.com profile] dugindeep, [livejournal.com profile] gembat, [livejournal.com profile] _mournthewicked, [livejournal.com profile] ibroketuesday, [livejournal.com profile] quantum_speck, [livejournal.com profile] woodstarling, [livejournal.com profile] cullencharm, [livejournal.com profile] crawleysnakes and my god I don't even remember everyone's usernames tbqh. Firstly, let me just thank [livejournal.com profile] dawnintheforest for the bajillionth time for allowing me to stay with her and putting up with me. I'm so glad to have met you, luv.

I'm always torn whether to use real names or user names when making things like this, but I'll stick with the usernames, I suppose.

Apologizing ahead of time because I do not have a decent camera anymore as mine is rather aged, so a lot of my pics are through my phone, which, while not a bad quality camera phone, can only do so much. So I don't have many pictures and the ones I do are only so-so.

-I whacked my knee on the bed frame the other night and I swear the bruise is getting bigger instead of smaller. Ouch.

-Angel's character is so un-Angel-like in the first 3 episodes of Buffy. God, season one. How you do kind of...suck.

-The hospital elevators remind me of the Tower of Terror. They're superfast and my ears pop at the pressure change. They rattle like crazy on the way up, and when they stop I feel like my knees are pushing into my ankles. I've never had a problem with elevators before (or the Tower of Terror, as I rode it 4 times in succession), but I swear, I'm thisclose to walking the six flights of stairs up to the bone marrow floor every time we ride the damn thing.

-My dog apparently caught a dove yesterday. My mom was practically laughing hysterically trying to paint the image for me. Winchester's just got neutered so he's wearing one of those cones on his head to keep him from his stitches, but he managed to latch onto an injured dove and carry it to my dad. Of course he only brings the nasty stuff back. LOL. I miss my puppy.

-Oh, also our house is apparently crooked and the new porch that just got built doesn't line up with the house frame. My mom was doing the whole "it's not funny, but it is" thing when she was telling me. There's a six-inch difference between the top of the house and the bottom now.

-It's getting better. All this is almost over, thankfully. And then...real life, finally. DUN DUN DUN. Oh, and I may not be around at all for a couple of days. Depending on how his counts come back, we may not have a trip to the hospital this weekend at all. Which means no internet access.

I don't always feel the need to explain myself, but since I consider myself a member of a fandom that has been known to be partially batshit crazy at times, I think it's better to be as clear as possible. Plus I just feel like getting everything out in the open. :)

Am I too obsessed with the show? Probably. I used to sit in class and compare Milton and Doctor Faustus to Supernatural, I used to write fanfic when I was bored in class, and my vocabulary consists of dozens of references to the show. ("Douchnozzle" is my current favorite.) I've paid hundreds of dollars and drove several hours out of my way to see Jared and Jensen in Chicago in November two years in a row. I agree to do(mostly legal) things just to get other people to watch the show and spread the word. I realize some people consider this obsessed, and sure, maybe it is. But I still feel like I retain perspective.

Now that that's out there, the rest of this post is about said obsession. :) I give you: the lowdown on how I feel about Supernatural and fandom. )

I usually put fannish-related things like this that I make over on [livejournal.com profile] crimson_rainbow just to have them all in one place and not clutter up this journal, since obviously I post enough already. But for some reason I feel like putting this here today. So ha.

First fanmix ever. I've been working on it most of the day, instead of more useful things. *shrug*

Jared Padalecki's umbrella holder. XD Wait...I'm probably too short for that.
Jensen Ackles' umbrella holder. Or Jared's dog sitter.

Hmm. But really.

I've never really wanted to act, but I'd definitely love to be involed on any TV or Movie Set. I'd answer scriptwriter, except I'm pretty picky about my work and I hate having someone turn it into something it's not, which is pretty much what always happens to writers' works. But just something behind the scene, maybe set design or lighting or craft services, something, that would make me a part of the ensemble. I think filmmaking is an awesome process, and I'm kinda shooting myself everyday for not becoming a Telecommunications major when I had the chance.

Any idea how this dream could become reality? I'm looking for a career come May, HELP! haha.

There's enough floating around out there about My Bloody Valentine 3D to write a small book with, so I don't see any point in posting a whole review about it, but there are some things worth sharing.

Rachael, Nicole and I left for Fort Wayne early yesterday morning, to visit their grandparents and then see the movie in 3D, as Fort Wayne was the nearest place showing it as such. My first time ever being in Fort Wayne, whoohoo. I expected the theater to be an IMAX, but it wasn't. No Friday the 13th preview, which disappointed me. (A little helping of Jared alongside Jensen never hurt anyone, lol.) I kept turning to Nicole or Ray during the movie and forgetting that we were all wearing these ridiculous glasses, so I'd stiffle a laugh as I said something like "Wow, that was gory," or "YEAH, blood spatter!" Sorry, Jensen, but those glasses aren't any cooler than the flimsy red and blue ones of old days.

If you see it, you HAVE to see it in 3D. The drive to the theater is worth it. I've heard it kinda sucks in 2D, anyway. I don't really remember ever seeing a 3D movie, and I KNOW I've not seen one like this, because it's not just scenes here and there, it's the whole movie. I felt like a voyeur at times, like I was listening in on conversations I should've been, standing right next to Jensen and Kerr's characters without them knowing I was there. It was a little...creepy, at times, even. But its so worth it, from the axe coming out of the screen at your head numerous times, to bullets and blood splatter and broken glass in your direction.

It's not THAT scary. There's a few good surprises, but its mostly just humorous, gratuitous gore. I think I jumped once or twice, and then laughed every other time, when people were attacked.

major spoilers ahoy here, do skip if you haven't seen )
END SPOILERS.

A whole area of downstairs is blocked off from the busted water line. The fire alarm's gone off again while they've been working on it. My RA says there's not really much they can do right now while it's so cold. The weather's putting a huge stress on the old pipes. And they're afraid the water break damaged the electrical system, too. No big problems so far, though, but its very...ominous.

You'll notice I'm avoiding actually talking about my schoolwork. I've also been avoiding DOING it. Sigh. It and all other things I should be doing, like finding a job and figuring out what the fuck to do with my life come May.

I am finally watching The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It's been sitting on my shelf since I begged Brett to buy it for me in Novemberish, after catching just the end of it on the movie channel. It's long, and not necessarily confusing, but its a very...subtle storytelling thats hard to follow at times. I have the sense I'm not grasping everything thats happening in the plot. But I know the story well. I always had a thing for stories like Jesse James. And I can't explain what it is about this movie, but it's wonderful. Like...No Country for Old Men wonderful. The story is terribly gritty and dark, but the picture, the images, and the characters are so wonderfully vibrant that you can't help but get sucked into the film.

GOD, why wasn't I a TCOMM major?! I'd know so much about the film making process now. Sigh.
